Forgiving Heart

One thing about the heart that always forgives
is it loves wholeheartedly and unconditionally
Though it gets tired most of the time,
as it keeps lingering in
what doesn’t deserve it,
the heart keeps beating on.

And it becomes even fearless
when expectation also wraps around it.
Not that it doesn’t know pain
Not that it wants self-slaughter
The love surpasses
the pain that it bears.
