The default or the highly customized Gnome3 desktop of Ubuntu 19.04 almost killed me. May be because I came to Ubuntu from Kali linux which uses plain and simple Gnome. This is a set of steps that I followed to put Ubuntu to a form that fits my taste.
Update the repo and get gnome-tweak-tool and shell extensions.
Remove the default Dock of Disco Dingo
Navigate to the Downloads folder. Here we install the paper icon and copy the theme to the system themes folder and also reduces the size of title bar of gnome.
Enter the following to the file and save.
Now open the Tweak Tool
(can be found among the applications) and :
Restart your system.
Now you wont be able to see the Dock. Press the Start button and there you will see the Dock. Right click the menu button and choose Dash to Dock settings to change it’s appearance and behavior.
