Performance in 2022

When I hear the word “performance” in 2022, it’s accompanied by a sense of overwhelming trepidation. It was something that would excite me, leaving me eager to engage in whatever it went on to describe. Now it seems, in a world of content without context, performance is a concept that lacks integrity. Counterintuitive to the ideals of the word itself.

I’ve spent a large part of my life in the world of human performance, whether it be through my own pursuits, as part of my professional career or fascinated by the performance of others across an array of areas. As with many in the world of human performance, I have accumulated experiences, opinions, heuristics and most notably, a passion for high performance. A fascination into the interpretation and underpinnings of high performance in all realms.

Originally, the reason behind this blog is to simply a way to arrange my thoughts, with the purpose being intentionally having no purpose other than interpretation and synthesis on my part. Selfish, I know. They are my words, based off my experiences and perspectives. Let them be ideas that are open to interpretation. They may stimulate, clarify or simply disagree with the thoughts or opinions of the reader. Or they may not.
