What If Eve Was Right?

If we were born with divine masculine and feminine qualities, then, at any given time, each of us has the ability to utilize those aspects. According to history, in the Garden of Eden, the snake provoked Eve to bite into the forbidden fruit. Did she not exercise her masculinity?

Curious, adventurous, assertive, and bold. Eve wanted to experience what the Earth had to offer, as well as to feel different emotions. Both masculine and feminine access at equal proportions. Equality. Maybe Eve was typecast as the one who lured Adam to bite that fruit. With nothing to do, but stay comfortable in paradise, Adam was poised to enjoy endless bliss, enough to last a lifetime. But he wanted a life partner and went along for the ride. If Eve was made of Adam, then Eve was an aspect and extension of Adam.

Maybe Eve felt there was more to life than bliss and biting the fruit unraveled darkness, leaving her to appreciate what she had. That darkness had not been contained since the beginning of the human experience. At any given moment, we have the ability to bring darkness or light and transform it accessing our feminine and masculine energies.

What we do know is men have suppressed their femininity. Was it from fear of being condemned just like Eve and those who were born or identify themselves as women? And have women suppressed their masculinity from fear of making decisions that will lead to shame and resentment from others and from themselves?

Unfortunately, the scale of equality continues to be unbalanced. Does the destruction of women derive from the resentment of what Eve did that perfect day in paradise? What if Adam was the one who ate the forbidden fruit and lured Eve? Would he have been recognized as heroic or brave? Would we have condemned men as women have been treated for the most part of history?

Men have been ostracized by some and admired by others for simply showing their femininity. The healing must continue so that men and women can once again integrate their femininity and masculinity as originally intended. It is becoming accepted that men show their femininity and women their masculinity, but only when needed. Let us continue celebrating that each one of us holds equality within. Embracing our feminine and masculine qualities must be the normal. Gender is fluid. It flows back and forth like nature. The ocean tides, the rising and setting of the sun, the breeze that whispers or destroys whatever is its path, the death and rebirth of all living things.

Men show sensitivity, caring for others, nurture, patience, while women share their leadership, courage, and strength. At any given time, the feminine or masculine energies can be accessed for both men and women. If we continue healing our generational wounds, we might reach the Garden of Eden sooner than we could imagine. Why not? We already have paradise and equality within ourselves.
